Default XSL Programming Standards

Has anyone considered creating a set of Programming Standards other than the interpretation of the XPath specification et al?

I'm trying to think of how one may prove useful, and what it will contain. Other than change control headers, being true to XPath version x.x, I can't see any firm benefit as the "standard" of the XSL will depend on the standard of the input/output data requirements.

Not looking to steal anyone's work, but a topic heading summary would be useful if you have one.

Anyone got any good arguments for not creating Programming Standards for XSL?

Cheers,

geordaa
