Default Grouping the value in a variable
After parsing an XML file, I have the following value in a variable "Temporary"

ABC-1|DEF-1|ABC-1|CDE-1|HHH-1|ABC-1|

I want the following output

ABC-3
DEF-1
CDE-1
HHH-1

Can anyone help...

I have seen this method. But it is done from a node-set. But this is the value of a variable. Is it possible to apply the same thing here??? If so help me how
