how to search a particular item in xsl

i have 10 records in my xml.using xsl i list all the records.i use search option in my page.when i give some name for example employee name in the textbox and click the search button it will display the particular employee name record which i gave in textbox.i dont how to get the textbox value. which one is easy to get the textbox value whether xsl or xslt or xml or any other option? i need ur help.

Are you running XSLT client-side or server-side? The techniques are completely different in the two cases.

I think you need to find some resource to help you learn about doing client-side transformations. If you have a specific problem I can try to help, but I can't write you a tutorial on this forum. (Buy my book!)
