Okay I am a newbie at trying to do transformations on XML. I have been the Michael Kay books and would like to use Saxon B. I would like to know how to set it up on a Windows computer. Anyone got some hints? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Assuming you have .NET framework installed it's very easy. Download the installer for the .NET version and run it. You can run command line transformations and also use the assemblies in your own code after adding a reference in the usual way. There are plenty of examples in the docuemntation that is also available. From download to first transform takes about five minutes.
