Default help - EXSLT func cannot set more than one result!

I tried to execute the following xsl generated by contivo tool and executed in web methods environment.

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

<xsl:stylesheet version="1.0"
     extension-element-prefixes="func ctvf"

  <xsl:variable name='_root' select='/'/>
  <xsl:template match='/'>
        <xsl:value-of select="ctvf:testForNullNumber($_root/Source[1]/textfield[1], "")"/>

  <func:function name="ctvf:testForNullNumber">
    <xsl:param name="node"/>
    <xsl:param name="defaultValue"/>
      <xsl:when test="local-name($node) = ''">
        <func:result select="$defaultValue"/>
      <xsl:when test="string-length(normalize-space(string($node))) = 0">
        <func:result select="$defaultValue"/>
        <func:result select="number($node)"/>

when i run the xsl in wm i get the following error.

com.wm.app.b2b.server.ServiceException: com.wm.pkg.xslt.util.LocalizedTransformerException : [XSL.0002.9002] JAXP: Error during transformation - javax.xml.transform.TransformerException: An EXSLT function cannot set more than one result!

why is that so?

I think that question needs to be asked on a forum specific to the XSLT processor you are using. The fine details of how EXSL functions are implemented are likely to vary from one processor to another.
