Hi,

I have the following XML element:

<Text>

There are 2 linefeeds before and 2 linefeeds after.

</Text>

When I run the XML through my XSLT, I get the following resultant XML:

<NewText>There are 2 linefeeds before and 2 linefeeds after.</NewText>


Here is my XSLT template:

<xsl:template match="Text">
<NewText>
     <xsl:value-of select="."/>
</NewText>
</xsl:template>

How do I keep the leading and trailing whitespaces in the final result using XSLT 1.0?

What XSLT processor are you using?

And what output method are you using?

On the surface, this behaviour looks incorrect. But it might be explained if we know more detail about what you are doing.
