in my xslt, i want to convert this xml file, but in the output file i am not getting the space between "</xref> <italic>"

"<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="b4">Ferguson (1995)</xref> <italic>Essay on the History of Civil Society</italic>"

If you want some help, post a simple XML example and your XSLT to show where things go wrong in your transformation.

In your earlier post, Mike has already replied to this question. You should delete
<xsl:strip-space elements="*"/>, if you need the space between <xref> and <italic>.
