xsl remove fwd and trailing spaces

Hi,

Can anyone let me know how to remove forward and trailing spaces for all nodes in xml.Can it be generic

<a>
<b> rrrtyy</b>
<c>kkkkk </c>
</a>

Use an XSLT identity transformation with the rule
