Default XSpec Results contain additional characters?

Please help me find the solution to this.

The results from running An XSpec & XSLT transformation is returning additional '\n.....' characters (I guess it's just parsed whitespace / tabs)...

This is causing my 'expects' to fail :(

Any clue to why this might be?

See images for reference:

Image of Expected Result

Why does it return with whitespace markers? (or tab ....etc replacement?)
...how do I ignore this from the XML? and just focus on the elements contained data so that it passes the XSpec?

All attempts to answer this question are greatly appreciated!

Kind Regards,
Josh Thomson
