Hal, please don't let frustration turn into bitter sarcasm. Understand that the vast majority of the people on here (including me) are not experienced enough to help fix problems on this board. We can make suggestions and hope some of them are doable by Wrox. If Wrox cannot or will not do something, I won't lose sleep over it. The people on here who are experienced enough to do something probably are at that level that they're busy with their own work. :(

Either way, a better response to this request would have been something akin to, "I'm sorry you feel that way. Currently the only way to delete a profile is to ask a moderator to do it. Instead of leaving, can you stick around a offer suggestions on how to fix it?"

Yeah, a lot of people complain and never suggest. We have that here at my job. Oy... But your frustration will meet with hostility if unchecked.

As for the e-mail interface, personally I don't need it and so I'm not one of those screaming for it. I find it a much better organization of my time to set a few minutes a day scrolling through the boards on the web and then leaving it alone until the next day instead of it coming to me on interrupting e-mails throughout the day. So I have to click here and there to view, so what? I'm sitting at my desk, not getting up and walking somewhere to see these. My gut reaction to the anger in some letters is, "Are people that lazy that they want everything to come to them?" But hey, customer service is all what it's about, ain't it?
