Default Access 2K Sort Order

I have noticed some counter-intuitive or perhaps anomalous behavior in the Access 2K sort order. When the sort order for currency is set to descending (desc) the output order will be large negative, small negative, large positive, small positive and finally zero (-100.00 -5.00 1,000,000.00 10.00 0). On the other hand, when the sort order is ascending (asc / the default), the output will be large negative, small negative, zero, small positive and finally large positive (-100.00 -5.00 0 10.00 1,000,000.00).

Has anyone else noticed this?

Is there a fix?
