Default workbook not found!

Hello all,
Today I attempted to import an Excel workbook to an Access database using VBA. However, Access returned the error "variable not found", while highlighting the word "workbooks" in the workbook reference. The reference appeared to be correct. Any ideas on the problem? Your views are appreciated
Tim

Are you sure you have the Micrisift Excel x.0 Object Library referenced in your References Dialog for the version of Excel you have installed on your machine?

Bob,
I'm sure that this is not the case as I am updating an existing Database and the error does not occur in the original. I have imported the existing objects into my own test database and replaced the Excel reference to refer to my own workbook. Access cannot "find" it, however.
Thanks for the post. I think I'll just start from scratch.
