Default Shared workbook.

I have a client that uses a shared excel workbook, they want some spreadsheet functions and vba code written. Will the code be executed for both the users, I know there are limitations in what can be done in a shared workbook and that to insert the code it needs to be non-shared. Does anyone know of any pitfalls.
