Default Microsoft Date and Time Picker - Error

I am creating an order entry system that requires a user to pick a single ship date or multiple ship dates and quantities to ship. I created several date fields for the user to enter in the ship dates or leave the extra fields blank for a single ship date.

I would like to use a calendar drop down and was working with the Microsoft Date and Time Picker. I am finding that leaving the date field blank does not work well with this control, I keep getting the following error: "Can't set value to null when checkbox property = FALSE."
Does anyone have a suggestion for this?
