In the past, I tried setting the form to open using Joe's steps in Access XP and the database acted strangely. Things didn't maximize right and windows were not behaving. So I did one thing differently.
Joe's Step 4 can be done via TOOLS > STARTUP as he instructs. There's a field there to specify a form to open upon the database openning (Display Form/Page). That caused weird behavior for me in XP. So I chose not to open the form that way. I left that option as none. I UNchecked "Display Database Window" but to get the form to open, I made an Autoexec macro that opened the form and maximized it.
This worked and the dB now works normally. It could be an XP glitch that's causing Bradles' dB (and formally mine) to act strangely.
