Assuming you're clicking a DELETE button:

Code:
   Dim varAnswer as Variant

   DoCmd.SetWarnings False

varAnswer = MsgBox("Are you sure you want to delete this record?", _
   vbQuestion + vbYesNo, "Delete?")

   If varAnswer = vbYes Then
      DoCmd.DoMenuItem acFormBar, acEditMenu, 8, , acMenuVer70
      DoCmd.DoMenuItem acFormBar, acEditMenu, 6, , acMenuVer70
   End If

   DoCmd.SetWarnings True
