Default Email Confirmation

Hey there. I am looking at creating an email confirmation for my website.

When a customer submits a form, I would like for an email to be sent to the costomer saying,

"Thanks for your enquiry, a response will be returned within 24 hours. Your ticket number is I1236464." Bla bla bla.

Can anyone suggest how this is done?

Is it done using ASP or ASP.Net or something else?

Dose Wrox have a book that I can buy which may show how this is done?

Hi there,

Sending e-mail is discussed in many Wrox books about ASP and ASP.NET. I am not sure, but I think Professional ASP and ASP 3.0 Programmer's Reference both deal with this. However, with sending e-mail you have quite a lot of options.

Depending on the OS of your Web server, you may have everything you need, or you may need to install separate components like ASP Email.

Check out this FAQ to see if the code presented in that article works for you: http://imar.spaanjaars.com/QuickDocId.aspx?QUICKDOC=249
