Default adp- stored query problem

(I apologize if I post twice, but I can't find my original post I thought I sent)

How do I get a command button that has =openform("Edit client") as an event. Where the form, "edit Client" uses a stored parameter query as it source? I get error : "applyfilter action contains a filter name that can't be applied". When I right -click on the command button, I click on remove filter/sort and I get the query prompt. What's going on? I dont know how to make it work. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.
