Access hosted on windows server 2003?

I am fairly new to access; can it be hosted on windows server 2003 so other people can access the database? Is the only way to acess it is through a shared folder??? Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi Hapsmack,

Welcome both to the forum and to Access. Typically, you would need a shared folder in order to share Access applications. You would also want to look at splitting the database.

Finally depending on how many users you will have, you may want to investigate using an database server like SQL Server or MySQL, and then you could use Access just to provide a front end GUI to that.

That is a pretty general and broad answer, but we could probably provide more details if you need them.
