Form and Report Style Problem

Hi all,

I have been looking on and off for these bits of functionality without success.

1) Is it possible to show the & as an actual character?
   for example any label or text box that might have the text "Name & Number" shows up as
   "Name _Number" using the escape char "Name \& Number" gives the predictable "Name \_Number"
   This happens everywhere in access. Can it be done?

2) Access says it can take in images of the type BMP or GIF. Try as I might I cannot get access to use a GIF.
   Every time I try it tells me via message box that I can only use BMP or GIF files!!

   A GIF file would be Ideal because it would save oodles of time remaking BMP files for other peoples bizarre
   color schemes.

3) Has any one ever gotten text and a picture on a button or menu? I currently am using BMP images with the
   appropriate text (problem 2) to get around this.

Here is one more I forgot, sorry I gave up on these a while back.

4) When entering data into a textbox with a input mask if a user clicks the mouse to enter the text box
   then the cursor will be where the mouse click registers, not at the start point of the field.

   Is there any way to set it to the first character position.

   for example a text box where there is a phone number and you click into it you might end up
   on the fourth number. (###) #|##-#### <- the | symbolizes the cursor.

1)You almost had this one! Typing in 'Name && Number' will display 'Name & Number'.

2) I do not have any problem using a gif file as the background to a form or report or in an image control. The help file for the picture property states explicitly that button controls only accepts bitmaps.

3) Can't be done, except in the way you're already doing it.

Brian answered 1 - 3. Here's 4. Try using something like this:

Read the help on the .SelStart property for more details.
