I used the following code on a single form, on the On Current, Before Insert, Before Update, and on a button called "Calculate" and it works:
'--------------------------------
Dim n1, n2, n3, n4, c1 As Long

n1 = Me.Value01
n2 = Me.Value02
n3 = Me.Value03
n4 = Me.Value04

c1 = n1 + n2 + n3 + n4

Me.Calc01 = c1
'--------------------------------
