Default Formatting tab controls

How do I get a coloured background on a tab control? The format tab in properties offers a Back Style property of Transparent or Normal, which appears to make no difference, but there's no Back Color.

Hi Bob,

You have encountered an excellent 'Feature' of the tab control.
the only way to change the background color of it is to put a coloured rectangle over it, which is kinda messy!

If thats no good, another approach is to create Frames for each of your pages, then control their visibility at run time.

The background color of the tab control is determined by your "Appearance" setting of your Windows "Display Properties." You cannot alter it in Access. If there is an API call that will do it, I'm not aware of it. Perhaps someone else can shed light on that.

Not exactly what you are asking for, but Lebans has an add in that will allow you to change the color of the ACTIVE TAB only. Find it here:
