Access startup error

Iâm running Office XP on the Windows XP platform. All of a sudden when I attempt to start Access I get the Windows Installer message âPreparing to installâ followed by the error message: âMS Access has encountered a problem and needs to closeâ.

This begins an endless loop with the same two messages running over and over again.

Can anyone help me?
