Default search access mdb for matched date from dateTimePi

How can I search an access database to check availability of a selected date on a dateTimePicker?
Am I clear?..durrrr!
I have a dtp and I want to be able to check a db to see if the date chosen is already in the db.
PLEASE HELP A POOP 1ST YEAR ICT STUDENT.XXX
