Default Validation

Hello Folks,

I am having a texbox,SubmitButton and a datagrid in which i am editing updating and deleting the items in datagrid. But while updating an item in datagrid if i press update button of datagrid the textbox is getting validated and unable to continue. This problem is in asp.net

Can anyone tell me the solution for this.....

I want the textbox to get validated only when i press submit button but not in datagrids update button.
Awaiting for your earliest reply

Unfortunately, this is the way validation works. Are you doing this validation on the server or client (or both)? If you are doing the validation on the server side you can very easily disable the validator that you don't want to use. So in your update command handler for the datagrid, you could disable the textbox validator outside the grid. However, if you are doing this on the client, it will be much more difficult.
