Default first log in

using the CDs from the book beginners guide to RH9 i am not prompted to make additional users and only prompted to create a boot loader and root level p/w.

how am i going to log in the first time. from what little i know you can not log in as root without first logging in as a user, then su over to root or supper user.

what am i to do please. i really dont want to wait until tomorrow to reinstall RH9 a 3rd time from a downloaded set of CDs. on my 2nd install now with book set of CDs.
