Default Beg' E-Commerce - Problem accessing server

I have been following the Jo Coffee project in the Beginning E-commerce book - without a great deal of success.

At step 1 of 4 of the 'Web Project Wizard' where you specify a server and mode, I type in 'localhost' and at this point a dialog box claims,

"There is no server on port 80 at 'localhost'. (Error code =
80004005)"

I have checked that IIS is using port 80, Frontpage Server Extensions are installed and working.

ASP pages that display contents from Access databases created previously in Frontpage are correctly displayed on localhost.

I am running WinXP, Visual Interdev 6 SP5, I also have recently installed MS SQL Server 2000 Desktop (Evaluation) edition.

Any help gratefully received.

Just use notepad to make your asp pages. You don't want to pick on Visual Interdev too at this stage.

BTW, the above answer is a guess. I'm guessing that you are talking about p32 and 33. You will see that there are a lot of steps 1, 2, 3, 4... in the book.

Seems odd. Do you have an entry like this at the top of your hosts file?
127.0.0.1 localhost

BTW hosts file is in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc
