Does anyone know why my SMTP service won't start? It is
saying :

Error 1053 the service did not respond to the start or
control request time in a timely manner.

It used to be working with my CDONTS program but recently
I noticed that it is not doing an auto reply anymore. What
I then did was stopped the service and started it. This is
when I got the error message above. What could have caused
this problem?

I also looked at the event viewer and noticed that I have
an warning message that says:

Message Delivery to the remote Domain : 'office.org'
failed for the following reason: The remote server did not
respond to a connection attempt.


This server is our web server which used to be part of our
network. After we decided to host our own website we
detached it from our network so this is now a standalone
web server with no connection to our local network. Is
this what's causing me this problem? It did work before
though.

Usually ISP's are blocking outgoing ports such as 25 etc. I found the simplest way to solve this - smtp.com. They are the oldest company, their service cost not much, they have professianal support staff. Since I've subscribed with them I haven't experienced any problems with sending email or they were resolved fast. I recommend you http://smtp.com
