   I am not able to deploy and run my web application using Tomcat 5.0.10, Java 1.4., Windows-2000

Proessional
   My Deployment details are as below

%tomcat-home%\webapps\greeting src\HelloWorld.java
                              index.html
                              web-inf\classes\HelloWorld.class
                                     \web.xml

   But if i modify the Provided example and which is in the
%tomcathome%\web-app\servlet-example\web-inf\classes and access through it will work.

Hi,

 You just add the HelloWorld.class path to your CLASSPATH variable.
 For adding CLASSPATH:
  ->Right Click on MuComputer Select Properties
  ->then click on advanced tab and environment variables
 -> then add CLASSPATH at System variables
                    OR
Do it at dos prompt:
CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;%tomcat-home%\webapps\greeting\web-inf\classes

U mean we need to add classpath for every servlet application we write. That's gonna be painful. Is there any other way out ???

Pls. try to modify the web.xml under your application directory to define a URL mapping!

Remove the your application folder manaually and try to depoly.

<<TOMCAT Ins>>\server\default\depoly\<<Your app. folder>>

and using command
tomcat7 generate:web i get the following erroro
Please correct me
