To clarify the problem, if I run config using the path /usr/bin/perl/apxs I get an error stating that I should run with apxs as opposed to apxs2, if i run with apxs I get a different error. If I try and run with /usr/local/apache2/bin/apxs I get an error stating I must specify a valid path.
