Default Client Script Outlook Object Model

I know this is for server side CDO, but I was hoping I could get help anyway. On a web page I do a SaveAs in client script in the Outlook Object Model with a 10 mb attacment and it takes a few seconds. I am in the same building as the Exchange server. A woman several states away uses the web page and it takes her over a minute to do a SaveAs through script on a 4-mb file. Normally, instead of my web page she uses a client program which does the SaveAs with an ActiveX control and it is much faster. Is there any reason the SaveAs in script would be so slow compared to the client ActiveX control?
