well now I have the macro running properly, but it still does not trigger the macro to run automatically...when I changed manually it works, but not when data is refreshed.

Any thoughts?

Thanks for all the help so far

Yes I entered data manually and it ran the macro, but when I just tried to refresh the data nothing came up at all.

No error message or anything.

So the procedure that refresh the excel doesn't trigger the change event.. what if you call it manually at the end of that event????

What if you add a explicit call to that procedure??

gbianci,

I do not know exactly what you mean by creating an explicit call. Could you please explain?

I mean.. You have a function that do the update?? if so, the last line could be a call to this function, that check if you have to send the mail or not...

The function that does the update is a time based selection I made through the Data Range Properties. It is not a part of the macro...maybe this is the problem? The refresh is not actually a part of the macro???
