Default ASP.NET Email Failure

Hi,

We are sending thousands of emails in asp.net with an image tag or link with an unique id(so that system can track whether user read/opened email or not). And we also receive 10's or 100's of email bounces. how to read/track these bounces through program/script?

Any idea is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

You would need to set up a process to monitor the email account that these emails are getting bounced back to to parse them out.

How you would go about specifically implementing this I am not quite sure.

I'm not sure that am correct. I am thinking about to create a application in vb.net and take instance of outlook and extract all bounced emails(hope bounced email has all info of sent email content with unique id, so that we can update our DB using that ID.) from inbox. This inbox has only bounced/any replied messages.

The bounced email will have the original email contained within it; your application is going to have to parse out all of the unnecessary information and get just the information you need, namely the image.

yes you are correct. How and where bounced messages are stored and how can we access/read/delete these messages though script after taking outlook instance.
