Default FormsAuthentication

Can a Web Site authenticate users by using FormsAuthentication cookie issued by another Web Service?

My Windows App calls a Web Service for the user authentication, and the Web Service issues a FormsAuthentication cookie.
The Windows App has a Web browser control which deals with a Web Site and the Web Site needs to read the FormsAuthentication cookie.

The Web Site and Web Service have same URLs: myWeb.com and myWeb.com/Services

I'm wondering if this scenario is possible because I've heard that Web Service has a different cookie container than the Web page calls.

Thank you,

You are right. The calling context is different.

The only way I can think of doing this is to put the browser window at a URL with authentication information. Some kind of unique authentication token that results in an "auto-login".
