Can I still use Visual Studio 2005 Beta 2 to develop my ASP.NET sites, and post them to a web host that is presumably running the latest version of the .NET Framework 2.0?

Some things will work, others won't.

For example, if you enable a database for the Providers (Membership etc) on your beta machine and then upload it to your provider, things will break.

There are loads of other differences between RTM and beta versions. It's likely you'll run into issues where you can't determine whether you have created a bug in your application, or the problem is related to the differences between RTM and beta versions.


If I were you, I'd download the Express versions and use those, if you're not ready or able to upgrade to the full versions....
