Thanks Imar for all your quick replies.
By the way I tried WroxUnited as root level directory and it worked for me.
now i will try to make new web.config and do as you said

Default Chap 03 - try out problem with 2 web.configs

I am still getting this error
I tried opening website so that WroxUnited was the root and am getting the following error. I am using SQL Server 2008
on Windows Vista -home and using Visual Web Developer 2008 Express Edition.
I could not figure out how to go about doing the other alternative with web.config either i.e adding content of one inside WroxUnited into the file that is outside.
