Hi,

I am confused abt the new authentication and authorization component. How is it linked to a database from Web Site Administration tool?

Thanks.

What you see in the admin tool is linked to the web.config. You will see membership providers in the admin tool that you define in the web.config. Look in VS help under membership providers.

Thanks for the reply.

I am using the Express version of Vs, Visual Web Developer. Does it make a difference? And I tried running aspnet_regsql.exe but there's an error.

"Unable to connect to SQL Server 2005 because there is an error in remote connection. Named Piped Provider could not open a connection"
But I checked SQL Server and I have enabled Remote connection.

Pls advise.

Thanks.
