Thanks that make a lot more sense... I am still getting an error though... I have incorporate the droplist at the top of the step one of the create user wizard... does it need to be on a new template?

Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Source Error:
Line 10: dd.DataSource = Roles.GetAllRoles()

well.. you are not finding the dropdownlist and dd is nothing... maybe is not in the template that you are looking into???
