Default ASP.NET development server

Hello,
What is ASP.NET development server? How can I run my web site without it?

I cannot run my program just by typing the address in the address bar like "http://localhost/dotnet/test/default.aspx". I can run it only from Web Developer. When I run it from Web Developer, the address bar shows the address like "http://localhost:2341/dotnet/test/default.aspx".

How can I solve this problem?

What problem? What is it that you like to change?

You can configure your site to run under IIS, but personally, I think for development that the ASP.NET development server is much easier.

Thank you Imar for your help.
What I want is just to run my program by typing the address (i.e. "http://localhost/dotnet/test/default.aspx") in the address bar. But I cannot do this. Why it is happening?

Take a look at this blog post by Scott Guthrie: http://weblogs.asp.net/scottgu/archi...-2005-sp1.aspx

Service Pack 1 for VS 2005 adds some new functionality, including running root based sites against the built-in web server.

Hope this helps,
