I am using Indexing Service to implement a search page, but my problem is that the DocTitle attribute on the index doesn't work because the aspx pages don't have a <title></title> tag until run time when IIS peices together the master page with the aspx page...this seems to be directly related to the fact that I am using master pages. Had I not used master pages, each aspx page would have a <title></title> tag that indexing service would use to generate the DocTitle attribute with. I can't imagine there isn't a solution to this...

Ok, well if nobody knows the answer to this question, perhaps asking a different question is more appropriate: what are you using to index websites to implement search funtionality? Is it able to index content stored in a database (something indexing service does not do)? Does it index files stored in a directory structure? Does it index content correctly using various templating technologies such as ASP.NET master pages and user controls?

I know there are lots of third party tools out there, but I also know the indexing service, which comes standard on windows server 2003 works pretty well, IF I could get it to work with master pages too. So I guess I am curious as to what the better 3rd party tools are out there for this?
