i wrote a small project, with asp.net2 and ms sql 2000, i was able to execute the project on my local iis, but when i uploaded to my online webspace its giving an error!

i want to find what should be in my connection string if i want to connect to a ms sql 2000 server which in online and has a static ip with port number.

Try following connectionstring:

Dim Sqlconn = New SqlConnection
(1) Sqlconn = New SqlConnection("SERVER=ipaddress;UID=loginid;PWD=pw d;DATABASE=databasename")

OR
Sqlconn = New SqlConnection("Data Source=ipaddress,1433;Network Library=DBMSSOCN;Initial Catalog=databasename;User Id=loginid;Password=pwd")

Also make <customErrors mode="Off" /> for the time being to get exact error message
