Default SqlDataSource On Inserting Event

    protected void MySqlDataSource_Inserting(object sender, SqlDataSourceCommandEventArgs e)
    {
        e.Command.Parameters["@ID"].Value = 0;
    }

Call SqlDataSource.Insert() and then do whatever additions internally in this event. There are also ways to do multiple
inserts, but it's more complicated.
