Default View PDF document without Acrobat

I would like to show the PDF documents on the client browsers (IE) even if they don't have a PDF viewer like Acrobat Reader installed on their machines.

You need some sort of software to interpet the PDF format.

You still need some sort of software at the client level or have some sort of component installed to handle these types of requests.

The only way I could imagine this working is to have a server based reader that changing the PDF to a common image type and return that to the browser.

Why do you wish to do this without a PDF reader? PDF has becoming a de-facto in standard format document distribution (hence the name Portable Document Format).
