That's possible; but you still need to install IIS and .NET 2.0 on the target server. You didn't need to do this on the client, as it was installed when you installed VS 2005.

Here's the event log:

Failed to execute the request because the ASP.NET process identity does not have read permissions to the global assembly cache. Error: 0x80131522

Search Google or another search engine for the exact error message and you'll find plenty of results.

Did you install the correct version of ASP.NET on the target server? You're not providing much relevant information so it's hard to tell what's going on.

Thanks for your help. I found the solution just now.
1. The lost of web controls on the page is because the ver. 1 is installed on the client which I use it as a server for testing and my page is compiled under VS2005.

2. The second error 'Server Application Unavailable' is a matter of permission which I did not set right on the default website.
