I tried anonymous access it didn't work I tried windows authentication, the same thing pops up. I have installed asp.net 2.0 though the document directory doesn't show any default.aspx page. Please help. config: Windows XP Pro SP2 with NTFS.

Default

Hi there,

First of all, make sure there is a Default.aspx document. .NET doesn't create them automatically for you.

Then take a look here: http://imar.spaanjaars.com/QuickDocId.aspx?quickdoc=263

In your case, make sure the Network Service account or the ASPNET account has sufficient permissions to access the root folder on disk.

Cheers,

Imar
