Default ASP Paging Query

In a nutshell I would like some basic information. My aim is to query a database and return the results in a webpage exactly like this http://www.asp101.com/samples/db_paging.asp
I understand that I need to page through record sets to perform this. I did this previously using Classic ASP and an older version of Microsoft Access as I have a degree in interactive multimedia & web design & development. I would use a DSN-less connection. Would you advise me to do this using ASP.Net 3.5? Or could you advise an excellent book that I could purchase to enable me to do this? Please pardon my ignorance as perhaps I shouldn’t have posted here. However, I thought a professional’s advice would be the best.
If you could point me in the right direction I would be eternally grateful.

My software
Windows Vista Home Premium IIS 6.0 & Microsoft Office Access 2007
I really appreciate any help and advice.

Kind regards

Hi there,

Sounds like you could use a copy of Beginning ASP.NET 3.5 in C# and VB.NET: http://www.wrox.com/WileyCDA/WroxTit...47018759X.html

Cheers,

Imar

Yes, the book talks about connecting to databases (although not an Access database; the book uses the free SQL Server Express Edition instead which is intended to replace Access in small web site projects). Additionally, you'll learn how to use smart controls like the GridView and ListView to display data and offer your users a paging interface.

Cheers,

Imar
