This control cannot be displayed

Hi,

In my web application(c#,asp.net-vs 2008 version) i am using a control in a page,which is registered in web.config of my appl.But when i open the design view of the page the control displays the message.."This control cannot be displayed because its tag-prefix is not registered in this web form"

and when i tried to build the solution error is coming.
error:could not load type 'page name'.

what is the reason?can anybody help me in this regard.
