ah, by doing so it effectively is like updating and removes the need for the SQL query.

Will give this a shot.

EDIT: didn't work, it's still editing the two fields back to null. when an image is uploaded it's just the extension.

EDIT2: I set up some break points on the e.newvalues & e.oldvalues and they don't contain any information of the thumbpath or photopath.
