Default PEAR::Auth and PEAR::Auth_HTTP

I'm looking for any information about the PEAR Packages Auth and Auth_HTTP. The PEAR documentation leaves a lot to be desired and I am unable to find any tutorials working with either of these potentially very useful packages. My authentication scheme runs from a MySQL database and I'm using PEAR::DB as an abstraction layer. Any insight is greatly appreciated...

I was lucky enough to have a section in my PHP book devoted to PEAR::Auth. I'll try and put some info up for you today or over the weekend.
