Default MySQL and VB

Hi.

I'm new here. Sorry if my question is irrelevant to most of you, but would appreciate if anyone can give some advise on this.

I am developing a program on VB6. The program makes use of data which is currently residing on an Access2000 Database. But now I need to upgrade the db to a MySQL database.

I know nuts about accessing data using MySQL. Do i need to change my current data access commands/statements? Or is accessing data on an Access2000 DB and MySQL is the same?

Can anyone provide me some online links that I can look into this specifically, to upgrade from an Access2000 to a MySQL database and the changes i need to make to my code.

Thanks in advance
